This is a story about four children whose names were Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy. They had to leave their home city, London, during the war. They 23 (SEND) to the house of an old Professor.
He lived in the country, ten miles from the 24 (NEAR ) railway station.
He 25 (NOT HAVE) a wife and he lived in a very large house with a housekeeper. On their first evening, the children said good night to the Professor and went upstairs. Peter suggested exploring the house in the morning.
When the next morning 26 (COME), there was a steady rain falling.
Susan, however, was hopeful, "I think the weather 27 (IMPROVE) soon."
"We were going to explore the house," Peter reminded them. He 28 (EAT) a sandwich at the moment and was absolutely happy with the whole situation. Everyone nodded and at that point their amazing adventures began.
